The Eiffel Tower

We spent Easter Sunday at the Eiffel Tower – walked there and back from our home in Issy-les-Moulineaux – about 8 miles round trip.  It was a wonderful day.  We walked along the Seine, through a lot of more industrial areas, after passing the park where the hot air balloon was landing on our right.  Then we came to the beautiful bridges, the sculptures, even a Statue of Liberty on the Seine, and the crowds were gathering approaching the Eiffel Tower.  Once there, we met a lovely dog, Holly, with her equally lovely person, Carmen.  We had a great time visiting on the grass in the park beneath the Eiffel Tower, for at least a couple of hours.  Then we headed back, taking a slightly different route – there are so many beautiful parks in Paris, places to relax or do sports.  Just amazing.  Here are the photos:

Beautiful pictures! Glad you found the Statue of Liberty–most Americans do not know that the French gave the Statue to us. You see the saying Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité (liberty, equality, brotherhood) on many buildings and statues in France–the French are big on freedom! Glad you spent some time on the Champ de Mars in front of the Eiffel Tower–beautiful place to relax and chat. Have never seen a hot air balloon in Paris!
